The only one I know has been a very dear friend since we were both 6 years old, so it's got totally positive associations for me. She got the name because her parents had really wanted a baby girl, and she was their first. It's got a rather raunchy image, unfortunately. When my friend went to nursery school, one of the assistants wasn't familiar with the name and misheard it as Daisy-Ray! Her nn has always been Des, but I still use Daisy as a nn now and then, and if I had enough daughters I'd have used Daisy for one of them, rather than Desiree.

It sounds pretty but also makes me think of boxed wine.

I like it! I like pretty much everything about it. I wouldn't use it, only because I'm not French enough to feel that comfortable with using it.
