I like it. I would not like it if I had never met a Duncan. I think it seems friendly and ordinary, moderately Scottish, surname-y (more rugged & impersonal rather than soft or familiar), sporty or preppy, modest, sort of handsome but also a little bit dorky.
People think it sounds like the word "dunking" as in Dunkin' Donuts (donut shop franchise) and they usually say that they don't like it because of that, but I think it is the other way -- they think of that because they don't like the name.
Similar vibes might be: Monty, Emmett, Clifford, Lyndon, Norman, Crispin, Phillip, Lyle, Simon, Samson, Malcolm, Dougal?
