You should see my list of Italian names that I love! (the post is about 2-3 days old) and I asked the same question - if they were too Italian and I'm pretty sure Fiammetta was on there...
Personally, I like it a lot. I still don't know if it's too "out there" or if I'd ever use it personally but I do know that I think it's gorgeous. A lot of people say that if you like the name well enough, use it but still...
