[Opinions] BA
The receptionist at my son's day program is a grandmother again. The baby is a girl, Anna Lea. Lea is pronounced LEE. It's a family name.
A side note: the baby is the mom's fourth, and was born at home. They live 35 miles from town, and the mom didn't think she had time to make it to a hospital. She thought it was better to stay home than give birth in the car. And she was right -- the baby came so quickly they would not have had time to get to the hospital.
Comments on Anna Lea? She will go by both names.

I'd like it more if Lea were LAY-a.
I too am bothered by the sound similarity to "anally" even though it should not be very noticeable in real life.
Yay for mom's judgment on avoiding having a baby in a car or on the side of the road!

It sounds very Southern to me. Is that how it comes across in the US? It's a perfectly nice name but not very interesting
Yes I think it comes across as Southern. We are in Texas, where I think it will fit in all right.
It's inofensive but totally forgettable.
Hi !!!
Anna Lea is not my style...
But it is good enough.
I would pronounce Lea as LEH-ah.
I agree with gaving birth at home.
With a good and professional obstetrician.
I hate hospitals.
Yes they have all you need.
It is safe..
But for somenthing so awkward like a birth I prefer staying at home in a familiar place, with people who I trust and love.
..and not with a lot of unknown nurses with dazzling lights with the hurry and all the noise...no way!
