[Opinions] Ruth
I really like Ruth and keep thinking about it in the mn spot, but I actually really like it as a first name too. The only thing that puts me off is that it's so short compared to my daughter's name (Patience). Thoughts on Ruth?~ Always end the name of your child with a vowel, so that when you yell the name will carry ~

I love Ruth but I totally agree with you on the first name thing, I think its better as a mn

Oh, I think Patience and Ruth are perfect for sisters! I love Ruth.

I love Ruth too, both as a fn and mn. I don't consider two syllables excessively long! And if you take Ruth as the opposite of ruthless, then there's a thematic link with virtue names like Patience that hardly shows but is still pleasing.A friend's daughter uses her full name - Ruth Mary - for professional purposes. I don't like the rhythm much, but a double name like Ruth Marie or Ruth Elaine might be nice and could be used on occasion.

Ruth was my grandma's real name (she always went by the nickname Bonnie). I'm neutral to the name other than that.

I have a teacher with a two year old daughter named Ruth (her brothers name is Anton). I really like it, I think it sounds really refreshing on a young girl. I think Patience & Ruth actually sounds very sweet together!

Ruth is one of those names that's difficult for me to say - like Lilith and Aurora. Saying it aloud makes me feel like I have a speech impediment. Sorry. :-(

I think Patience and Ruth sound really nice together! The shortness of Ruth complements the length of Patience, and since Ruth means "friend" they both have a warm, friendly feeling to me.

I like Ruth. I think it's an interesting balance of warm and austere. I prefer it as a MN, mainly because one of my childhood friends was named Ruth, and I remember I had a hard time pronouncing it at first.

I think Ruth is ugly. It sounds like a dog barking, and a sibset of Patience and Ruth sounds like a pair of sisters who would go around calling out witches in Salem in 1692.
