They're both wonderful. I particularly like Eloise as a middle name - it goes with just about anything! As a first name I gravitate more toward Eloisa.
I agree, regarding Eloise and Eloisa. I prefer Eloise, and think it is highly usable. I used to prefer Louisa to Louise, but that was when it was more unusual, and a name that I only occasionally came across, outside the page of Jane Austen's novels. Nowadays, it seems at least as popular as Louise, and I currently adore Louise. It was overused as a middle name, and I'm glad that it is being revived as a first name. It's classic and beautiful.
I think Eloise has the edge for me, too. It will be in my top 10, or even 5, female names, when I next update it.
I like Eloise.
