Ohhh I'm sorry but I really dislike it. It reminds me of Gypsy which is also used as a name sometimes. I have often heard the word 'ginger' being used in a negative way, as an insult, and I think that's horrible! I love red hair, maybe because I grew up with Harry Potter :) I would rate it 0/10. A name with a similar vibe to me would be Gypsy. If you want to use it I would recommend to use a different full name, maybe Virginia or Ginevra, so she can use that for offical documents.
I think it seems really tacky and flakey.
The only Ginger's that I know or know of both spell it terribly too- my friend's cousin is named Jinja (gross) and then there is Jinger Duggar.

I've met a Ginger. She'd be in her early 30s now. I liked it for her but wouldn't use it myself. I think it has panache but also seems a bit ditzy. 6/10.
I'd group it with other spice/herb names like Rosemary, Saffron, Betony, Sage; or maybe names like Piper, Ruby, April, Nova, Hazel, Daisy.

I like it. I knew a "cool" older girl when I was a kid named Ginger, and the other one I've known was artsy. I struggle between it seeming sophisticated or too cutesy, which are at odds.
I guess I'd group it with things like Molly, Annabel, Lucy.
I like it much better as a nickname, I suppose.

For humans in the US, it's extremely dated. It's much more common on dogs. So names similar in feeling to Ginger would be Honey, Coco, Lady and Foxie.
I'd rate it a 5. It's not terrible, but to me it has an overtly sexual, slightly tacky vibe.
