Honna is considered by most to be a variant on Hannah (Hebrew).

It is also a surname in Japanese as well as an first name for boys in India (meaning "posess").

A cursory search in Facebook suggests it is kinda popular for boys in India, and relatively rare for girls in America (total assumption).
