[Opinions] Leah?

I think its pretty. Its less often used than Aaliyah, which is way overused nowadays. It has a great Hebrew, Jewish, Biblical, and Christian use. I think Leah Vivienne is lovely.

It's simple but not plain. It's short and sweet but stands out. I think it's one of the prettiest names and it doesn't seem as common as others. My only complaint is the Leah spelling - I like it but I do think it could use some oomph. All in all though, it's always been one of my favorite names. Leah Vivienne is very pretty.

Leah has been growing on me a lot.
I love Leah. It's been a favorite of mine for a long time. I think it's gorgeous and much better than the popular Aleah / Alleah / Aleea / Aleeya names, which all just look like empty misspellings. Leah, otoh, looks refined and elegant. I don't think it's plain, just simple, which is nice. Leah Vivienne is a beautiful combo.
I think Leah is a lovely name, it is pretty and classic but not boring or overused, the meaning may not be that great, but as you mentioned, a lot of people name the kids with meanings that may not be nice, and still doesn't take away from the name, I quite like Cecilia and variants of it even though it means blind.
Leah Vivienne is a very lovely combination, both names work really well together
I also quite like Leah Winter, Leah Josephine and Leah Florence

Leah is my favorite girl name. I think it's strong and dignified, pretty, approachable. I really like it.
"Classy is sometimes mis-diagnosed as plain imo."
I agree. Unless your name is like, Juniper, Aquilynn, or Nevaeh, apparently your boring and bland. How is that even possible. There are so many out there names nowadays that normal names sound normal in comparison. If you want to equate normal with plain, fine.

DH and I were discussing Leah just the other day. He really loves Leah and I like it very much. I don't think of it as plain at all and I love the sound of it. I asked our dds' physician once how she liked her name (Leah) and she told me she liked it just fine with the exception of one brief period in her life where some of the boys at school called her Leah-Peeah-Diarrhea, lol. She said she got over it quickly enough. :-)
Leah Vivienne is a beautiful combo. I like the flow. In fact, my fave Leah combos have a similar flow: Leah Madeleine, Leah Marielle, Leah Juliet.

Thank you so much for your encouraging words! :)
I did a little research today, and it didn't really occur to me until now that so many people seem to have such strong negative feelings about the name, so it's nice to read something positive about it.
I think your Leah combos are absolutely beautiful, by the way :)

Leah bleah.
Thank you for the constructive criticism, I guess?
I'm sorry, but I really strongly dislike Leah. I dislike its meaning (I trust the Oxford dictionary more than some other internet sources and it says it means 'weary'), I dislike the story behind it (apparently the meaning stems from the Biblical Leah having weary eyes which at the time could mean that she had problems with her eyes or that she was ugly) and the whole Biblical story about her wasn't that great.
Even if you put that aside I think it has a hollow, empty, bland sound to it. There are several ways to spell it and all of these spellings are being used (Leah, Lea, Lia), it was really popular (at its highest in 2010 at #24) but has been falling ever since which leads me to believe that it might sound slightly dated soon. It won't be horribly dated because it's a classic but it does already sound a bit like its best times are over.
On the good side it's a classic. I guess that's the only nice thing I can say about it, sorry :( But if you like it you should use it and not listen to what everyone else is saying. She is your daughter and there are many many worse names out there than Leah!
I like Vivienne and Leah Vivienne actually sounds really nice as a combo!
If you want some names that are similar in style, here are a few on my mind right now:
Eva
Mila
Nina
Ada
Leia (while this seems to share its meaning at least it is a bit more interesting)
Luna
I like them better than Leah and they are all a bit more interesting but similar in style.

As a side note on the story... I think most people choose it because in the story God showed favor on Leah because of her situation and she became the mother of several big names in the Bible... one of whom was Judah - who was the father of the people who became the country of Judea... and where we get the word (and the people)"Jews".
She was literally a mother of the Jews.
She was literally a mother of the Jews.
Yes, the story definitely has some nice aspects to it as well and I also think that that is why religious people often use the name as well! It will never be a favorite, but in general I love Biblical names, especially Rebecca.
