Demon Barber of Fleet Street. That's pretty much the only reaction you're going to get from most people because that's the only well-known person by that name.
Attend the tale of Sweeney Todd
His skin was pale and his eye was odd
He shaved the faces of gentlemen
Who never thereafter were heard of again
He trod a path that few have trod
Did Sweeney Todd
The demon barber of Fleet Street

I don't like it. I think it's the repeated "ee" sound. It makes me think of the little pig who cried "wee wee wee" all the way home.As for others' perceptions, I don't think I've encountered the name enough to have much idea. Many people will associate it with Sweeney Todd, certainly.

I love the "Sweeney Todd" musical and have seen it both in the movies and on stage. But Sweeney is a scary character and it's a one-person name. It's more or less impossible to use, even though he's probably just a made-up character.
It also makes me think of "swine" and "weeny".

Sweeney Todd is all people will tie it to. So no. Unless maybe you're a super goth family. Who is also into musical theater.Even if I try to not think of Sweeney Todd, it still is too close to weenie. lol

Google Sweeney Todd. I don't like it. I dislike how it sounds (like a mash-up between sweetie and sweat) and how it looks.
