[Opinions] Helena, Rebecca, Tabitha or Olivia?
Which one do you prefer or why? These four names have a very similar feel to me for some reason. They are all a bit no-nonsense, down to earth, girl next door.Could you please comment on them?Helena
Rebecca
Tabitha
OliviaWhich is your favorite?

Helena - I like Helena, but not the pronunciation hel-ay-na
Rebecca - I hate all the nicknames for this name, but in itself it's quite nice
Tabitha - this is a new love, my favourite of these.
Olivia - I'm tired of hearing it

Helena has too many pronunciation possibilities. I much prefer Helen or Elinor.Rebecca is probably my favourite, though I don't enjoy Becky much. Becca is OK.Tabitha is way too feline - unlikely to be used in full, it can only shorten to Tabby! I love Talitha and its impeccable feminist history, and I've actually met a couple, though I've never met a Tabitha that didn't say meeow.Olivia is a puzzle. I love the sound and the Shakespeare connection, but Olly ... yuck! And a distant relative of mine was named Olivia in about 1910 I think, and insisted on being called Olive instead. Which I don't like at all.

Helena is my favorite! It is funny you describe all of these names as similar and down to earth. I don't really see Helena as down to earth, it seems very regal and a little haughty to me. I like it a lot, though I actually prefer Helen by a bit. Helen seems down to earth IMO.I think Rebecca and Olivia are very much similar. Rebecca is boring but I appreciate the sturdy sound of it. Olivia, I've always disliked because of personal association... it is a sound that I would like though. I love O names and I love lilt of -ivia.Tabitha is different to me. It's a little whimsical and flighty and... sorceress-y. I LOOOOVE Tabby as a nickname so much it's so cute!!!

In order of preferenceTabitha
Olivia
Helena
RebeccaI love Tabitha, which is unusual enough to always be noticable, but also not 'weird'. it got a lot more use in England in the 1700s and it's nice to ese it not forgotten.I would like Olivia a lot more if I hadn't heard so much of it. It was popular in my generation, and now even more so. Helena always seems a bit stuffyI find Rebecca very boring

I prefer Tabitha. Helena is too old-school for me. Rebecca and Olivia are fine but so common and ordinary. I find Tabitha pretty and spunky too.

Helena seems more posh than the others, classical. Rebecca and Olivia are similar, popular, sweet but no nonsense names. Tabitha seems a bit wilder, free-living than the others. I like this one best.

Rebecca is my favourite as a full name, but the nicknames, whilst fine, I don't love. Olivia is stunning, but overused. Helena is lovely, apart from the issue of multiple ways to pronounce the name. Tabitha is beautiful, but Tabby as a nickname deters me from loving it, and makes me prefer Talitha. Talia is a nicer nickname.

Helena - my current #2 girls name :)
Rebecca - nice but a bit dated, I know a lot of Rebeccas in their 20s and 30s and not so many young ones
Tabitha - like it, it's very underused
Olivia - very overused and popular

Tabitha is my choice.I love both Rebecca and Olivia, but Rebecca was formerly very popular and now dated, and Olivia is currently very popular and will become dated.Helena is just not a favorite of mine.Tabitha is cute, charming, and woefully underused.

Helena, for the sole reason that my grandmother's name is Helen. Plus, it sounds prettier to me.
