[Opinions] Rosamel
Would you be so kind as to give me your thoughts about Rosamel? It was my G Grandmother's name and was THE name my mother wanted to name me. I'm seriously thinking of changing my name now.Cecily Pandora Jane, Maud India Scarlett, Elspeth Violet Ophelie, Penelope Io FrancesRex Fiyero Malachy, Cosmo Henry George, Rufus Wilder John, Clarence Arthur Finlay

I think it's beautiful. Sounds like Turkish delight, caramel with rose water.
The only thing I don't like about it is that it reminds me of Gargamel from The Smurfs.

Sounds like it would be the name of Gargamel's sister or even wife, if he ever had one.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gargamel

I'm not a huge fan, sorry. Rosalind, Rosamund, Rosanna, Roseanne, Rosemary, Rosemarie, Rose and Rosa are all favourites of mine. Melanie is my favourite Mel name, and Melissa is also pretty.

It's pretty good. Rosabel is better but I do like several "mel" names, although usually I'd prefer it as a prefix... I'd say it's a better middle name since it does sound slightly dated.

It's unique and has a pleasant sound. I know someone named Roshamel (not sure of spelling) and I think it's unusual and sounds nice. The neat thing is you have the option of choosing a common nn if you choose. What makes you want to change it?

I want to make Rosamel my name. I've been trying it out recently and it seems to be alright but I wanted more opinions. I want a name that at least One of my folks loved beyond reason. :)

Ohhh ok, I get it now. I think it's an awesome choice - it's a beautiful name and you have great reasons for choosing it! :)

It has a nice sound and the meaning is very lovely, but it sounds a bit manufactured. I'm not a big fan of made up names.

I love it. Unusual and stately and meaningful. If you're moved towards it, it's a family name, and your mother loved it -- seems like a winning choice.(meant to be a response to the OP, sorry)
