As a few of you mentioned, I too prefer Eleanor in full... but assuming I would use it on my daughter in a few months, I feel like it is inevitable that someone will refer to her as a nickname. With that being said, I would prefer to choose one to my liking so when someone does, we could say "oh, it's actually ___" so she doesn't end up one of the 10 Ellas in her class.
