I like it. It has a cool sound and I think it's usable. Malachi is getting popular, so why not Mordecai?

I like it because it makes me think of an eighteenth century colonial in a tri-cornered hat and knee breeches. Or a strong, muscled colonial frontiersman clearing the land with an axe.

I'm not sure it's usable today though. The "Mord" part makes it sound somewhat morbid.

You could go Mordi (not my fave) or Cai as a nn.
