because it has an interesting history behind it. As far as I know,
Gresham
hasn't.
Btw, do you pronounce both names similarly? At first glance I'd pronounce
Gratian
as grah-tsee-AHN or maybe grah-tee-AHN.

Yes they are pronounced similarly.
Gratian
= "GRAY-shen"
Gresham
= "GREH-shem"
