[Opinions] Friend BA
Someone I went to school with her first child yesterday, a boy named Otis. What do you think?
I'm personally pleased. It's not something I would use but it's nice to see something out of the ordinary without it being weird. The only problem I have with it is that it's so close to 'osis' which is a Swedish word for 'bad luck'.
We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are. PNL: http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/45898Top rated: Alice and William

Makes me think of the pug in the film Milo and Otis. He's adorable, but it just sounds funny for a person. I'd have to get used to it.

elevators lolas in Otis Elevators...that's the only thing I can think of. Sorry. :/

Otis sounds more like a name for a dog to me. Or, at least some other pet

Otis is a good name, and you hardly ever see it. I'd be tempted to use it myself if I didn't have a bad association with the name.

I still can't help but think of Otis on Andy Griffith Show, even though it was pretty much before my time (but had reruns on as I was growing up). And Otis on the show was a very obese alcoholic, so I wouldn't use it. I prefer the similar Otto.

Otis is a great name! We have friends with a DS named Otis, he must be turning 5 at the end of the year I think. I was so pleased when they used that name, it's very unusual here in Australia and I think it's very strong and masculine.
