Dune reminds me of gory scifi so not so much. Dunes are pretty cool though, so I see the appeal if you like nature names.Boone is very to Daniel Boone so I get a pioneer vibe. I think it's usable. I have encountered a few.

I think it's cool. But I would only think it less silly if dunes had a significance for the parents (like, I live by them, so if I named my kids stuff like Dune I'd find that more acceptable). ha I feel the same about any otherwise random nature name, though.Pair it maybe with something hipster/crunchy?
Dune Alistair
Dune Bennett
Dune Idris
Dune Merritt
Dune PhilipI think Boone is fine.

Do you pronounce Dune to rhyme with Boone? Because that is not how I intuitively would say it.
I definitely prefer Dune over Boone. Look-wise Dune is so much better. I quite like the imagery I get from Dune as well.

Yes, I pronounce them to rhyme. How do you say them?

Not sure what happens in CN-land, but in British English there's a y in there: Dyoon.

There are worse names. Between the two of them, I think I prefer Dune.Dune sounds kind of like "dude" and reminds me of the beach, and those things combined make me think of surfers. Also, for some reason, I'm tempted to pronounce it like Dunn when I imagine it as a name. Boone reminds me of "the boonies" and The Boondock Saints.

Dune makes me think of sand dunes or the sci-fi book. I don't find it particularly masculine either, maybe because it is close to June or the naturey vibe.Boone has a bit more appeal because it has some history of use as a name/surname. Boone Alexander
Boone Emmanuel
Boone Gregory
Boone Isaac / Isaiah
Boone Israel
Boone Jasper
Boone Jonathan
Boone Lysander
Boone Patrick
Boone Rafferty
Boone Sawyer
Boone Schuyler
Boone Stewart

Boone should be a mn itself, if anything. And Dune really doesn't please me at all. Too sci-fi planet with hallucinogens.

I love Dune! Kind of prefer it for a girl tbh.Boone feels super played out like Brooks, Briggs, Beau, Brantley, etc, but if it's a family name, that definitely adds some charm. Dune Andrew
