Help[Opinions] Bella
What do you think of Bella? Is it too nickname-ish? Still too attached to Twilight? I remember liking it a lot many years ago before the movies were released. It seems to be falling rather quickly now. Will it be very dated? Tell me anything you think of when you hear the name Bella. Thanks :)

Bella is ONLY related with Twilight in my mind. After that it is an adjective too so...horrible.
I much prefer Isabella* that in Italy is not so trendy and has an aristocratic vibe thanks to the royal families that ruled Italy through the history.
Belle* is linked with Disney but French is always refined and melodious for our ears.
Annabel is simply boring. I prefer Annabeth*. It is more...thick, mature, fascinating.

I loved it for a long time when I was younger. The Twilight association isn't that strong, imo, know one cares about Twilight anymore. It has a nice enough sound but on its own it's pretty substance-less, and it will without a doubt become very dated. As a nickname it's alright. I prefer Annabel to Isabella but I like Isabella too.

Bella is sooo whiny imo, and very nicknamey. I never read or watched Twilight, so the association there isn't too strong for me. Judging by the popularity charts of Bella, Isabella, Annabel, Annabella, etc., I assume it will quickly become dated, yes.
As for full names, Annabel is pretty boring, and a little too try-hard for my liking, but otherwise fine. Isabella is every bit as whiny and annoying as Bella. I'd rather see Isobel, without a nn.

I really can't get behind Bella. It seems to reek of like, 2010. I think it will be extremely dated.
I don't know. The name just kind of rubs me the wrong way. It seems so princessy yet so insubstantial. It almost feels tacky to me.
I do really like Annabel. And I do like Belle as a nickname. I don't make sense. :D

I never liked Bella, it manages to be both foo-foo and animalish. I know of a woman with twins, about ten years old now, named Max and Bella, and I always thought those sounded like a pair of badly behaved labradoodles. Their ful names are Maxwell and Isabella, so overall the set of full and nicknames seems so cliched.

I think it's fine! As long as she has a full name in case of trips to Italy.
It was popular regardless of Twilight. So I don't think it's as associated with the character as, say, Hermione is with HP.
I've heard a couple girls being addressed as Bella in public and I think it sounds nice. Not bratty or dumb at all. It's nicer than prissy, flimsy Ella. It does sound sort of, I dunno, indulgent -- but, like the parent is fond, not like the child is overindulged.
Yeah it'll be slightly dated, because Isabella has been pretty popular and a lot of people will observe a big wave of them, all around the same age. But I don't think it'll seem tacky in 20 years. I think Harper will, it'll become like Heather - but Isabella won't. I think it'll be like Amanda. At worst, like Tiffany.

I had at least two great-aunts named Isabella who went by Bella. So that's what I call dated!
Currently, since Isabella is popular again, no doubt there are lots of Bella people around, but the youngest one I've ever met must be 70 by now.
