[Opinions] Reginald
1. What do you think of Reginald for a boy?
2. Is it due for a comeback? Does it deserve a comeback?
3. What do you think of Reggie as a nickname? Thanks :)

I love Reginald, but I don't care for Reggie because it minimizes the stuffy grandeur that attracts me to the name.

Only a black guy can really pull off Reginald nn Reggie. On a white guy, it sounds foppish.

Reginald is okay. It's quite a formal-sounding name & I can't imagine someone always going by it in full, but I wouldn't mind seeing it on a child, especially if it was after a family member.
Reggie is much more friendly, and has already had a come-back here in the UK - it's in the top 100.

I hadn't checked the popularity of Reggie. Thanks for pointing that out! I wonder how long before Australia catches onto Reggie then, given its love for nicknames as names...

I went to school with one that went by Reggie and I don't like it. It is not due for a comeback and in 30 years.

I like it on a dog, but not on a child. Its like Nigel, Niles, and Watson. They just sound like butlers.
I hate Reggie and Reg as nicknames.

Ha, I also really like Nigel and Watson! Niles is ok.

I'm not big on it. It sounds kind of snooty. To be honest though I'm not sure how much of that impression is coming from the name itself, and how much is from the Archie comics character.

My DH adores Reginald and thinks that the world should "realise it's THE Perfect name" for a boy today. I rather like Reggie But I'm still on the fence myself about the full Reginald. Some days I like it, other days it strikes me as rather pretensious. Sorry I can't be more enthusiastic about Reginald. Reggie's Aces, though!
