My friend's sister had her baby, a girl named Maggie Jean. I asked if Maggie was short for something, but it isn't.

Maggie Jean sounds very cute for a baby, but once she grows up a bit I think the dignity of Margaret would be preferable, even if she never uses it in everyday life.

And if the parents dislike Margaret or have bad associations, there's always Magdalen!

Maggie? In my opinion is boring alone...
I much prefer Margherita, Marguerite or other full names.

Maggie is nice on its own, I like Margie also. Jean is also nice but I prefer Jeanne.
