[Opinions] Dolores

I like it.
I don't see it coming back soon, though. It's considered old-fashioned in English-speaking countries (and probably completely taboo in the UK because everyone there associates it with Dolores Umbridge) and in Spain, and even in Latin America it seems to be considered somewhat dowdy.

I don't know (since it means "pain") that it will be favorable again. But it would be a daring, refreshing choice.

I don't really care for it. I don't like the sound of it. In addition, it feels too serious and ponderous to me and yet the nn Lola is the exact opposite of that. I suppose Dolly could work. I'm used to it as a nn for Dorothy or Dorothea yet I could see it working for Dolores.
BTW, one of my friends in high school had a mom named Dolores. I was writing her name down once and asked her if she spelled it Dolores or Delores and she replied that she didn't really know and it didn't matter. Just write it down however I preferred. Whaa???

I just can't help but think of Umbridge, and I really hated her (along with pretty much everyone else). I don't mind the sound, and I like that it's unusual, but I personally can't shake or stand the association.
I don't like that it means "aches and pains" in Spanish.
Dolly is cute.
Dolly is cute.
Hi Perrine !!!
I strongly dislike Dolores because of its meaning and its thick religious vibe...
I follow a Spanish telenovela where Dolores is a extremely nosy, chatterbox and gossip woman in her mid-50s I guess. So that makes this name even worse!
Dolly is a lovely name that I don't tie with Dolores.
Dolly is 8/10 while Dolores...3/10? It could be so.

It's dolorous. I don't see it coming back.
I sort of like Dolores, but have to confess it makes me think of dolor, the Spanish word for pain. I don't think it will make a comeback.
