[Opinions] Re: Blakesley (f)
in reply to a message by A
Makes me think of a girl with baby blonde hair and a turned up nose, whose family lives on the Upper East Side most of the year but has a summer house on Long Island, and takes private sailing lessons and maybe owns a horse. Her middle name is Elizabeth or Katherine after her grandmother, and she goes to a private school that's tuition rivals that of some colleges.http://www.behindthename.com/pnl/87410

Ha, my association is almost exactly the opposite. The name seems a bit...(i know this is gross of me to say)... More downmarket... along the lines of Brooklyn or a creative McName. It seems aspirational.

Agreed. It's awful, I'm sorry. Hard to say and doesn't sound real or substantial at all.

Ha, my perception of the rich might be screwed up. It just sounds so waspy to me. Maybe a better description would be used by parents who wish they lived on the upper east side and that their kid could take sailing lessons.

I also thought the description was opposite of my perception. Seems more trailer park than upper east side to me. Sorry.
