[Opinions] Jennifer and Jessica
Do you think Jennifer and Jessica have the potential to become "classic" names, like Elizabeth and Anne? They're nowhere near as popular as they used to be (at least in the US), but they remain in the top 300 and seem to be consistently used long after their heyday (while other names from the same time period like Caitlin and Heather have left the top 1000 altogether). Are they just "70s-90s names" or new classics?

I agree, they've become modern classics. I like Jessica way better than Jennifer, though.

Hmm, I think Jennifer might. If I really think about it, it's quite austere in the way of classics. Jessica seems too upbeat and cutesy but who knows? I do like both names. They're the best of their lot for sure. Plus I love Jenny and Jessie.

Jennifer has been popular since the 1940s or so in the UK, I know a couple of Jennifers in their 70s. Jessica is still in the top 10 here. I wouldn’t call them classics, but they definitely don’t have the same dated feel here as they do in the US.

All I care about is that I'll be dead by the time either one comes back, if they do, because God I am so sick of both.Even though I like Jessica lolWhether or not they are classics can't be stated at this time IMO. A classic has to show some staying power. It doesn't have to be consistently popular (again IMO), but it can't be a name whose time came and went and never came back. They may have dropped less precipitously than other names, but that doesn't really show staying power. If they come back, they are classics. If they don't, they're not. IMO.
