[Opinions] Patricia
Patricia - wdyt? What nicknames do you like?
Replies
It feels a little dated to me, but it's a nice name. I guess Patsy is my favourite nn.
It's quite common where I live. I like it.
I'd like it more if not for all those blah nicknames Tricia / Trish and Patty / Patsy / Pat.
Tricia / Trish has a too-casual vibe to me, and Patty seems so domestic and plain.
Patricia itself is alright, though.
Especially if people would say it pa-TREE-sha instead of pa-TRISH-a. I kinda like Patrice better than Patricia.

It's really a pretty name. It's soft and elegant. It's easy to lose sight of that because it's dated, and when it was popular, it was very, very popular.
My sister is named Patricia and wishes she weren't. Partly because of how popular it was, and partly because she doesn't like her nickname, Patty. She is never called Patricia.
I don't care for Patty or Pat myself. I like Tricia or Trish better. My sister tried to change her nickname to Trish when she was in elementary school, but it just didn't stick. Now she thinks that effort was silly, for all that she doesn't like Patty.

It's not a favorite, but you could do a whole lot worse. I actually know somebody who seriously considered naming their baby, born back in January, Patricia. They ended up calling her Melina.
I think I like Patricia best as a full name, but I do like Trisha or Tricia. However, I think those stand better on their own if you like them best.
