[Opinions] Re: Annmarie/Annemarie
in reply to a message by Olwen
I don't care for smooshed names in general so neither spelling appeals to me although I do like Anne Marie and Anne-Marie (which I briefly toyed with while carrying my youngest dd).If I had to choose between Annmarie and Annemarie, I'd go with the latter because Anne and Marie are both French (more congruous) and I don't have to look at the three consonants side by side with Annmarie.ETA that I obviously like Anne-Marie (and Anne Marie) because I briefly considered it for my dd. At the end of the day, however, it just felt a tad dated (although lovely) while Anna Maria felt too exotic and both felt too expected."Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that." -- Martin Luther King, Jr.
