[Opinions] Lula and Reign?
What do you think of Lula and Reign (boy)? I've loved Lula for a while but right now I love Reign for a boy- - -

Lula sounds really old-lady Southern to me. I have a hard time taking it seriously. Reign sounds just like Raine, which I think of as being feminine. so I don't really like it for a boy.

I think Lula could be an adorable nickname for Louise, Laurel, Laura, Eloise or whatever when a girl is very young. I'd hate to introduce myself as a Lula in a professional environment. It's just so twee. I'm not against nicknames as full names, but Lula just makes me think of pink tutus.Reign has a nice sound but a ridiculous meaning.

I love them both!

I don't like either of them in the slightest. Lula sounds silly and babyish to me, and just not that aesthetically pleasing. Reign doesn't seem like a name at all to me.

I actually thought your subject line referred to a Hollywood celebrity sibling set. I'm not a fan of Lula. I'm not sure how to explain because there is somewhat of a culture gap, I'm in the US. Anyway it's like Stella or Poppy, self-consciously informal, and a shade too much so for my personal taste.
Reign isn't my thing either, because it's spelled as a word about ruling, which gives me a feeling like it is referring to some kind of unconventional religious belief system. Or else it's supposed to subliminally make people feel like the person has something to do with authority or royalty, like when a person is named Sir.
Rayne or Rain would be less unappealing to me.That's my personal reaction, but I think the names seem normal enough among current BAs, and would not be hard to bear or anything like that.

I like Lula, but as a nickname to Talullah, which I just really like. Reign I'm not so fond of seems a little cocky to me.

Well, I can't see what makes Reign any better than, say, Rain or Rein. To occupy a throne? Really? At least Lula is, let's say, unpretentious (not to say, down-market). Don't get me wrong - I like squid. But as a human name and not a restaurant-menu item ... unsuitable. And not a good partner for Reign.

Lula is not a name I would use but I appreciate it and like hearing it used. I think it's sweet and would age well. No-one else is standing up for Reign but I'll defend it. I love Reign spelled this way. I knew a girl with this name a few years back and have liked it ever since. Because of her, I think of it as feminine but I can see it working on a boy too.=)

I love the name Lula! We considered it when pregnant with Eden, but Eden was our top choice or at least in our top 2 for years and we couldn't miss the chance to use it. Lula is beautiful though. Reign, not so much! Doesn't really appeal to me, sorry.

Hi Evey !!!Lula as a short for Louise is horrible.
Louise is sweet, refined, kind while Lula seems..so tacky. Also as a short for Tallulah is the same. I prefer both full names to it.Reign is too much.
As I said in the previous post I prefer simply Roy to remember the regal meaning.

I’m not saying this to be unkind; this is just my honest impression of these names:Lula — seems incomplete to me. It would be good as a nickname for a longer name (Tallulah?) but seems incomplete on its own.Reign — this seems both pretentious and low class to me. It’s a term for a state of rule, but just given as a name? Its like naming a kid “Sir” or “King.” Trying way too hard. It’s like the equivalent of knock-off Gucci shoes to me. Rain or even Rayne have the same sound but would be much less pretentious.
