Aphra is one of my favorite names, actually! I definitely prefer the Aphra spelling - not only for the look, but because it's the name of Aphra Behn, the first woman in recorded history to be able to financially support herself solely through her writing. Oh, and she was also a spy for Charles II of England. Basically she was awesome.I had Aphra Penelope as my main combo.

I don't think it sounds pretty. I think it sounds like a brand, and is confusing. I think Aphrah looks less brandy and more "complete" and biblical. "Af" is kind of an awkward sound.

I like it insofar as I like the literary association, but I'm not really into the restoration era so I haven't bothered reading any of Behn's work, although I might one day. I don't like it as a name separate from Behn, so on its own merit.

I really like it and the association with Aphra Behn. I actually know of two Aphras IRL.
