[Opinions] Holland
I met a girl named Holland today, and I didn't think it was terrible. Thoughts?
Hmm. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.

Better than Netherland(s). I suppose.
It's not, as you say, terrible, but un-necessarily odd. I would think the bearer would tire of explaining why she is called Holland. Unless there is a good story.

Outside of the Netherlands, I mainly associate Holland with the actress Holland Taylor, and she's wonderful! But I feel like you'd need a strong, no-nonsense personality to bear this name, otherwise you'd get buried under it.
I kind of like it. I live in a heavily Dutch area so I can see it being a nice nod to your family's heritage. It's a place name I think makes a decent first name.
I hope she likes orange clothing!
When South Africa hosted the FIFA World Cup in 2010 (and I watched USA v Algeria live!), the country was teeming with delightful Dutch soccer fans who hired buses and travelled in long convoys in support of their team. And among them were large numbers of very large gentlemen and especially ladies, all wearing orange T-shirts with "Holland" emblazoned across the chest. So, OK. But the ladies were really very, er, well built, and I had to concentrate hard on not giggling, because the Hol- in Holland is the same as the English word 'hollow', for obvious reasons, and this is fine for the country, but for those very convex people it just wasn't suitable at all.

I live in the Netherlands. It’s weird. But I don’t think I’d like it anyway.
I feel like a lot of these trendy sort of names are appealing just because the first part of the name has similarities to more classic girls’ names, e.g. Holly this case.

I wouldn’t say it’s terrible, but I strongly dislike it.
It's not terrible, but I find nothing attractive about it as a fn. I much prefer Holly.
Hi !!!
I prefer it on a girl as you said.
There is a beautiful young actress named Holland Roden.
After that Holland (as part of the Netherlands) in Italian is Olanda and takes the feminine grammatical forms so it is simplier and nearly immediate to me say that it is feminine.
By the way I think that every geographical name need a strong reason why to be chosen as a name because it is geographical.
I have not them with Holland so I would not choose it.
It is a good, unusual name though.

It's terrible.
I don't like it as a girls name, but I think it's a good name for a boy.
