I quite like it. I don't hear it enough for it to come off as uber-trendy. I really like the sound of it.
I like it on a girl, but prefer Adan for a boy.
I like it for a boy.
Prefer Edith, there is also Edenia which is the Realm where Kitana from Mortal Kombat comes from!
I don't like the meaning - not the best meaning for a daughter in my opinion. It has a "trendy Biblical" vibe to me.
I believe the meaning listed on this site is actually incorrect. *Looks around waiting for rocks to be thrown* I have scoured sites for Hebrew names and checked the meanings on those sites and the most common meaning given is actually delight. Pleasure is also mentioned, but delight is the meaning that is regarded as "the" meaning. I agree that it is seen as "trendy Biblical", but more so amongst name nerds. That put me off a little, as I like to choose more unusual names for my kids, but it's certainly not crazy popular either. The general public find it fresh and beautiful. We have had so many compliments when we tell people our DD's name. Eden was one of the names that DH and I agreed on and have loved consistently since we were expecting our first child. Actually I believe it was on our list before we even conceived!
I like it much better IRL than when it comes up on the Message Boards hypothetically. When you were looking for names for your daughter, I tried to always answer as I'd react in real life. I think it's beautiful sounding, ages well, has a cute nickname option, isn't common but it's a recognizable and pronounceable name- and I think you picked a great one. I'd definitely imagine that you do get lots of compliments on it in real life :)
Interesting that it has an alternate (?) meaning. To be honest I've never looked for it other than on BtN. Thanks for the info!
Dislike. It feels too trendy and just...trite I guess.
It's so bizarre for me to hear it called trendy. When I was growing up (and up until about 15 to 20) years ago, I never heard it on anyone anywhere.
Ditto for me with Haven
It's trendy now. Your parents were definitely ahead of the curve I think.
I do understand that it is trendy now, but just seeing it/hearing it put that way is still bizarre.
Tried making a joke, but just reread it and I just kind of sounded like a jerk. Lol!

lol That's ok. If it was something about me being ancient, I'm cool with that. ;p
I find it a bit drab.
I get compliments all the time. It's not really my taste, so I wouldn't use it, but if you like it, your child will likely get many compliments and not be troubled by the name at all.
I get the appeal, but it's not passing the test for me. The one where you figure out if it sounds better with "Doctor..."/"CEO..."/"Honourable Judge..." or "please welcome to the stage the luscious...". Sorry.
