[Opinions] Ariel (m) and Arielle (f)
I'm thinking of adding both to my list. Thoughts? What first/middle names would you pair with either, if you had to? Bonus: Because there's no denying where I got the names from, what are your favourite names that belong to Disney characters? Thanks!

I'm in my early 20s and I grew up in a suburban city in the PNW and had 3 male classmates named Ariel - I've never met another female Ariel/Arielle. I like Ariel for both genders, personally.Isaac Ariel
Arielle Rose

Arielle was my number one girls' name for years but lately I prefer Ariana or Aurora (incidentally a Disney name but I was more grouping it here for the "Arie" nn). I do still love it and have a soft spot for it. The combo I used to use a lot was Arielle Jade which I now realise sounds like a 15 year old naming a baby. I liked Joiya's combo of Arielle Cate actually. As for Ariel, I like it as a GP. It has a cool look to it and a Biblical reference but a boy Ariel in Australia would definitely be teased. Even a boy Ari I would worry about. If it's the same where you are, you could always go with a strong fn like Carter Ariel.

I'm not sure I'd worry about a boy Ari, but I certainly would worry about an Ariel, though I like the idea all the same. Thanks!

I think both are rising in popularity. I do like Ariel on a boy, but grew up in the 80s and 90s so the mermaid pull is too strong for me to seriously consider it. I do know a couple of Ariels that are guys, but none of them are from the U.S. or had any Disney association with the name. I think Arielle is pretty but bring the new range of pronunciations with it. I know a newborn Ariella and they pronounce is are-ee-ell-uh. Both are beautiful names, but the Arielle spelling does disassociate with the mermaid which is probably a plus. I would go with:Ariel Zane for a boy to be trendy, or Ariel Heath to be cool. For a girl - Arielle Willow is trendy but smooth and Arielle Cate would be classy, while Arielle Rose would be very Disney and Arielle Wren sweet. I think I like something more elaborate myself, like Arielle Valentine.

Ariel Heath is great! Heath has all the cool of Heathcliff without all the melodrama.

It's a fave at the moment.

I love both versions and they are both on my PNL. Clearly I love Arielle as it's my DD's mn, so I like Eden Arielle as a combo, that's my fave! There are so many names that work with Ariel or Arielle as a mn though imo. It all depends on what style of name you'd prefer for the fn.Some Disney character names that I like are Belle, Alice, Nala, Daisy, Jasmine, Minnie, Mickey and Giselle (from Enchanted). That's all I can think of right now. Not a huge Disney fan though I have to say.

I love Ariel as male name, it would be in my top 3 names for a future son if it weren’t for the detergent ruining its usability where I live. Oh, and I pronounce it the Hebrew way, since the first time I heard it it was in connection to Ariel Sharon.Ariel Sebastian
Ariel Jude
Ariel Bernard
Ariel Benjamin
Ariel Cameron
Ariel Thomas
Ariel Dominik
Ariel Bennoni
Ariel Denali
Ariel Cassander
Ariel Owen
Ariel Mark
Ariel Nikita Moses Ariel
Joseph Ariel
Simon Ariel
Silvester Ariel
Benedict Ariel
Zoran ArielNot a fan or Arielle, but it’s ok. Disney isn’t really a thing for me, so don’t know any newer names and the ones I remember from my childhood I don’t like.

We have the detergent here too, but I personally don't think it makes it unusable! I like Ariel Thomas and Silvester Ariel!

I dislike Arielle and hate Ariel. Arielle seems so fluffy and vapid to me and Ariel is a boys' name. At least Arielle (ah-ree-EL) has a nice enough sound, while Ariel (AIR-ee-ul) is just kind of whiny. I could get behind Arielle as a middle name with a classic, no-nonsense first name, like so:
Elizabeth Arielle (love this, actually)
Jane Arielle
Eve Arielle
Genevieve Arielle
Ivy Arielle
Madeline Arielle
Naomi Arielle (liking this one too)
Violet Arielle
Vivian ArielleI'm not a huge fan of Disney princess names but I do like Jasmine, Anna (ANN-ah and not AH-na like in the movie, though), and Sofia.
