I don't think it's too bad.Funnily enough, Woodrow Wilson's first name was actually Thomas. He dropped it after he graduated from college. I noticed there were a number of American presidents who went by their middle names: Ulysses Grant, Grover Cleveland, and Calvin Coolidge also went by their middle names. (Their first names were Hiram, Stephen, and John respectively.)
