Where did you find Tomte?
In Swedish, a tomte is a kind of elf or gnome who watches over a farm and cares for the animals. He's mostly kind, but if you don't behave he can be furious and even dangerous. Jultomten, on the other hand, is the Swedish Santa Claus.
Tomte isn't used as a name, at least not in Sweden. But maybe there is a name Tomte in some other country?
