[Opinions] Re: Nimue
in reply to a message by Happy
i think the pronunciation is relatively simple for sole English speakers, compared to many other names. me and my family have some very hard to pronounce Hungarian names, some with pronunciation rules not so common outside of Hungarian (ex. s is sh), and yea it's a pain, but once enough people know you it's fine. it'd be more of a problem if you live/work somewhere where you constantly meet new people, but even then like...people can and should learn.i used to be more reserved and nervous about picking a name that'd be hard to pronounce, and i admit there's still a limit to what i personally would choose, but still- why cater to others over something so silly? especially if you live in say, the US, which is multicultural enough that people should just learn to ask for pronunciation, go "ah, ok", and move on. eespecially, i repeat, since Nimue is so simple for people familiar with many of the other most spoken European languages. people should learn that e more often than not makes a new syllable.also, i can see Nimue getting more popular. sorry for the rant lol
