Anne is such a simple, sweet name that it can really pair well with anything I think, but I especially like it with a longer middle, more flowery middle name. :)

Yes - beautiful in its simplicity. If a middle name would be added I agree with your suggestion for one with an elaborate number of distinct syllables, which will also allow for numerous pet name variations - adding distinction into a longer, more formal title.
Another idea might be to drop the idea of a middle name entirely - to let the grandeur of its simplicity stand. Heck one might even drop the surname.

Usually Magnolia seems OTT to me, but I think it's just right paired with Anne.
I also like Anne Agape, Anne Everild, and Anne Finola surprisingly a lot.

These are my three favorites:
Anne Louisa
Anne Sophie (I don't typically love Sophie but I've always liked it paired with Anne.)
Anne Margaret (surely people in this day and age won't automatically think of Ann Margret right?)

I have a relative named Anne Rosemary, which I have always thought is a lovely name.
Something a bit odd, but pretty, and that doesn't sound quite all American.

If I'm completely honest, Anne works better in the middle, where it's like earth tones - goes with anything. I do love Anna, though!
Can't think of any good, not-boring combos, sorry!

To me, Anna is much more boring than Anne! But thanks anyway.
I agree. Anne has an elegance that Anna lacks.
With such a "plain" name I'd go for something uncommon and fun. Anne Marigold and Anne Eulalie were the first names that came to mind.
