Do you like Mallory? Is it very 80s? Does the meaning put you off?

I honestly like Mallory, but I would never use it on a real life human because of the meaning. It’s kind of dated, but I don’t think it’s that bad because it was never mega popular.

I actually really like the name Mallory. I think it is wholesome and mature.

I like it. I mainly associate it with the Spiderwick character. I've never actually met one IRL. Because of the "mal" part, you do have to be okay with a certain amount of... I don't want to say "edginess" because that's not what I mean, but... you can't be supersitious about the meaning, and you have to be a little ironic or facetious about it.

That sort of makes me think of Mallory as a punk name. It doesn't quite click in my head, but it's an interesting take nonetheless.

The meaning totally puts me off! Whenever I see it, it connotes the meaning instantly. That's only nerdy people who have that reaction - but here we all are...
I like some names with "unpleasant" meanings, like (classically) Claudia and Cecilia, which mean Lame and Blind, because I think there's secret strength in those "handicaps." But that's not so for "unfortunate"!
I also find it a little bit corny looking. PlaySkool-y.

I don't like it. The Mal- part would put me off even if it didn't mean what it sounds like it means. It's just a glum name.
I do think it's very 80s. Well, it's very "pushing 30." The style of it never goes away, really.
Mallory, Lindsay, Brittany ... Taylor, Jordan, Kelsey ... Sydney, Hailey, Morgan, Madison ... Harper, Piper, Quinn. Surnames/placenames that seemed so preppy and spunky, but in just a couple decades they seem more like Tracy, Stacy, and Kelly. I think Mallory is still usable, but I wouldn't name a child a name that people will probably think of as middle-aged when she is college-aged.

I like the name Mallory!
I have it in my list although it is not among the names I would choose. I rate it 6/10 that means 'old-favourite'.
The meaning is bad but also Emilia means something like 'rival' and it is trendy anyway.
I like Mallory because of a fictional character which is strong and proud.

I don't like Mallory at all and yes, the meaning does put me off. I can't get past the "mal" beginning.

I far prefer Malory, which was never popular here, and the meaning leaves me unmoved.
