You have no data on Russian last name -Shershniov. I know the family. Shershniov has root from SHERSHEN = bee-soldier. It is a bee but 3-4 times larger size. In 16 Century Russian king Ivan the Terrible decided to take over Siberia. He got soldiers from all Russia and each town, village selected their commander. Shershniov was selected as a commander of one of the group. After occupation of Siberia all commanders and solders got some land and slaves in the villages. Slaves were lived "free" life as it was before the occupation but paid duty to their master. So SHERHSNIOV clan settle in Siberia since 1546(?).
