I actually like it - but I think the variation Ryland (derived from the surname) is more substantial, even though I'm usually not a "surnames as a first name" person. Ryland was in my Top 10 at one point, but it basically got ragged on, so I think I'm alone in liking it.

I like it! It sounds a bit common but I think I've only met one or two.
I slightly prefer Ryland (because it sounds older, less trendy, specifically has "land" in it, and doesn't look too much like Ryan) but both are good.

It's very Play-Skool.

Sounds like a synthetic fabric trying for a more upmarket image than Rylon.

It honestly seems a bit trendy and cringey to me.

I've never seen it before & it looks to me like some kind of material: "made from tough, water-resistant Rylan™ for use in all weathers!"
Also I want to pronounce it Rillan, because it's so close to Dylan. Guessing it's a frankenchild of Dylan and Ryan - not appealing to me at all.

I dislike it, it feels even trendier than Ryan.

I like it, and I also like Ryland.

I think it is tarnished by the past popularity of Ryan, and the current popularity of Orion and Riley and Ryder and such. If not for the forgettable, "beige" / camouflaged quality it gets from similarity to all those, I might like it a lot more. It's an appealing sound.

Well I only think of the name as a boys name. Hahaha!
I really like it but unfortunately don't feel that it would age all that well so I prefer it best as a middle, at least in reality.
I think Rylan is fitting as a first name for a fictional character anywhere around infant to 8 or 9 years old perhaps who never ages or at least not significantly.
