[Opinions] Graduates from a Finnish high school
My cousin graduates from upper secondary school (= a Finnish equivalent of high school) in this month. They already published the names of all graduates from his school on a local newspaper: as there were some interesting names, I wanted to share them with you.

Thanks for sharing these! I enjoyed looking them up. I love all the nature names.
Lots of Iidas! and I had no idea Oona was Finnish too.
I have known five Finns and all their names except one are on this list, even though they must be at least a generation older than these students.
Are nns as full names a relatively new thing in Finland, or have they always been common?

I would say that nicknames as full names have always been common in Finland, as we Finns seem to prefer shorter and simpler names. In fact, some diminutive forms are so popular and common that they've sort of lost their nickname status. For example, if I came across a person called Anu, I would automatically see it as her full name and not consider her to be an Anna with a nickname Anu.
