[Opinions] A bit of a rhyme Danish sibset.
A girl (older) and a boy (younger) named Mathilde and Mathias. That made my toes curl since they're on our top 20 here, so they're really popular, and I'm not the least into these popular names. Secondly the shared 'math' part of their names, made me cring even more, since I dislike that also. Their mom had no imagination what so ever naming them.(Makes me glad my parents named me Charlotte and my chose to spell my brothers name Kristoffer, or else it could have been Christoffer. I'd hate the shared 'ch' in the start.){Edit: More.}

Yes, I too share your aversion to siblings with such similar sounding names. But coming from the U.S.*, I can't fault these parents for giving their children classics that will wear well over time. Let's hope if they have any more that they will have tired of the "M"/"Math" theme. On their own, I love both names.
* The U.S., where many parents think the initials mean they have to name their children Unusually Strange or Uniquley Silly names.
