Definitely prefer Sophie. It just seems friendlier and more approachable to me.

A Sophia can be Sophie, or indeed Fia, but a Sophie has no options.

Overall I prefer Sophia, it feels more international and "grown up".

Sophia because it sounds elegant and like royalty. I think Sophie sounds too nicknamey to be used as a given name and very kidish.

Sophie. I’m a French-speaker and Sophie just looks more natural to me. It also makes more sense to me due to the French spelling of “Philosophie” since Sophie means wisdom.

I prefer Sofia. I think it has more personality and spunk than Sophie.

Both are cute and I have used both in short stories. I think I prefer Sofia. Although I wouldn't use either for real, they are too common.

I'd go with Sophia. St. Sophia is one of my favorites. I also like the idea that a Sophia could be called Sophie so I wouldn't really have to choose.

Fun fact: When I was a young teen one of my favorite names was Sophia but spelled Sopheja in a half-baked attempt to use a Joseph name without actually using Joseph. I just don't know... lol

It's one of my favorite names. Sophie is syrupy sweet and perpetually babyish. I hate it so much that I'd never use Sophia up front for fear that she'd be called Sophie.

I adore Sophie! I'm so sick of Sophia / Sofia , it's a nice name just overused to the point that it's bland.

Sophie reminds me of my favorite girl name Sylvie. I also love the spelling Sofie - esp. in the right combo!

Sophie is light and soft sounding with that French flair! I used to dislike Sophie actually. I've only come to see her appeal quite recently.

Sophie, mainly because I’m sick of hearing Sophia.

For me it would be at the (perhaps changing?) preference of the nam-ee - considering that one form may serve an AKA form.

I like Sophie better than Sophia, but I prefer Sofia to both of them.

Both names are on my list, I love them. The only thing stopping me using them is that they are incredibly popular where I live!

Out of the two, I would choose Sophia, because I hear it slightly less than Sophie :)

I love the sound and simplicity of Sophie.
