It's a bit dated for me (though it is kind of cute)

Judy is adorable. I'm crazy about it. I think it could stand on its own, but Judith is so beautiful and formal -- I feel like it would be nice to have both options.

This is actually my mom’s name. It’s not short for anything. I think it is better as a nickname.

It might make a comeback in a few more years, but it still seems kind of soccer mom-ish to me.

Same. I think Judy’s cute but I don’t like Judith at first glance. Once I think about the sound, it’s pretty, but growing up I always thought it was weird. There’s something cute about Judy, though.

Not a fan. Reminds me of the judge too much. If I used Judith, I'd prefer no nicknames. I think it's still too dated for a comeback. Maybe in another generation or so.

I think Judy is very cute, in a poodle-skirt, saddle-shoe, bobby-socks and ponytail kind of way. Very cheerful and happy.
Judith, on the other hand, seems grim and sour, a middle-aged woman who thinks life has passed her by (because she kept thinking something better could come along and so didn't take the good things that presented themselves to her) and I would much prefer Judy on its own.

I'm fond of Judith and Trudy, and I even warmed up to Jody (which I've never liked) a bit recently.

Judy's okay, though it still sounds dated to me. I'd like it most paired with more fanciful names. Judy Pandora. Judy Esmeralda.

I far prefer strong, no-nonsense Judith to sweet and cutesy Judy (or, worse - Judi!)but the short form is hard to avoid.

Judy can stand on its own. You could always make the nickname come from the combination:
