[Opinions] Re: Dolores
-I really like Dolores! The sound is lovely and the meaning (“sorrows”), while not obviously positive, does have its own strength. -The ability to endure sorrows with grace is one of the most important aspects of the human spirit, at least imho. When I think of Dolores, I think of that endurance and strength. -My favorite nickname for it is Lori. Dolly is also nice, if a bit “too sweet.” I don’t really like Lola at all. -And I don’t really care for Delores. To me it seems like a misspelling. Dolores is an actual word (in Spanish).-Btw, on a personal level, I had an aunt (z”l) who was legally named Dolores. She was wonderful. She always hated her assigned name, though, and never went by it, so I wouldn’t use it to honor her.*previously posted as summitseeker*
