Sarah gets a speeding ticket for $50. It’s a quarter of her paycheck, so Sarah isn’t happy when she sees the amount but ultimately pays it.
Year 5
Sarah gives birth to another girl! Gabby is now big sister to Naomi Rebecca Todd, who decides to wait until the 41-week mark to come out. As a result of the long wait, Nate and Sarah try some laboring techniques. However, Naomi is perfectly healthy, and Gabby is enthralled with her baby sister.

Nate and Sarah finally get their wish for a little boy! Contrary to Amber, Luke is born a little earlier than planned—three weeks, to be exact. Thus, Luke stays in the NICU while he gets strong enough to go home, which ends up only being ten days. The girls are very happy to have him.

Nate and Sarah sadly get a divorce after ten years of marriage, due to incorrigible differences. In the settlement, they get joint custody; Sarah gets to have them most of the year, while Nate has them during holidays.

Sarah quickly rebounds when she meets, dates, and marries her high-school crush, Keegan Wesley. Sarah can tell this marriage will be better than the last, and Keegan and the kids all hit it off well.

The family packs up and moves to Jambi, Indonesia, which Gabby is pretty bitter about, especially because she’d just developed her first crush. Soon enough, though, she grows to love her new city.

Naomi breaks her wrist after a bad fall and has to wear a wrist brace the whole summer, which she’s pretty bummed about.
Year 15
Amber finds a gray-tabby kitten prowling around the playground at school and, when she brings it home, asks Sarah and Keegan if she can keep it. Initially, Keegan only lets the kitten stay for one night, but he softens when he realizes how sweet and loving the animal is. Amber squeals when he tells her, and after finding out the gender at the vet’s office, she decides to name him Smoky.

Keegan’s mother, Gramma Wesley, dies of complications from pneumonia, leaving the entire family heartbroken. Keegan gives the eulogy at her funeral, and Gramma Wesley is buried right next to her late husband.

Sarah unexpectedly falls pregnant and gives birth to another boy, her first child with Keegan. Although shocking, Parker Zane Wesley’s arrival is a pleasant surprise. He’s born via home birth, so all four kids get to watch it happen.

Luke and Amber get into a fight about personal space, and they’re punished with having to say five things they like about each other.
Meanwhile, Gabby gets married to the love of her life, Curtis Wright. Curtis is Gabby’s boyfriend of four years (and fiancé of one year), having met when Gabby entered the high school as a freshman (he was a sophomore at the time). Gabby, who has taken on a job at a daycare in southwestern Colorado, can’t wait to start the next chapter in her life.

Luke breaks his leg during a soccer match, landing him on bedrest for six weeks while he wears a leg cast.
Year 21
Smoky escapes the house and runs away when nobody’s home, and when she discovers him missing, Amber is absolutely inconsolable; Smoky has been her favorite furbaby since day one. Thankfully, after a day of putting up “Missing Cat” posters all over the neighborhood, Smoky is found by a kind lady who lives on the next street over. Smoky had let himself into her house when he thought it was his own!
Year 22
Sarah is tired of Eastern life and wants to move back to Europe, so she brings Keegan and the kids in for a family meeting to discuss it. Ultimately, they decide to go for it, and they soon settle in the Finnish city of Tampere, in the southern part of the country.
Year 23
Sarah’s sister moves in to live with the family after going through a very ugly divorce that ends up in her losing everything. Sarah welcomes Aunt Valerie with open arms, and she has high hopes that Valerie will get back on her feet and start dating again.
As Aunt Valerie moves in, Naomi moves out, in order to become more independent. While it’s out of the country, she manages to find an affordable apartment. The place is in a coastal city in Belize called Punta Gorda, and Naomi thinks it’s perfect—affordable rent, spacious living quarters, and more.

Year 24
Gabby and Curtis are so eager to start a family, since they’re now both in their twenties, that they decide to start with a pet—a young tortoiseshell kitten named Luna. Luna is Curtis’ Christmas gift to his lovely wife, and Naomi is very pleased with this acquisition. Luna is a feisty little girl and loves to keep her owners on their toes. Her favorite thing to do is bat at anything that dangles.

Year 25
Gabby and Curtis get their wish granted for a baby, and it’s a girl! Both parents agree that they want a name with a nice combined meaning, so they go with Hannah Katherine—pure and graceful. Not only that, but Hannah is also carrying the tradition of having Katherine as a middle name. Luna is adjusting surprisingly well to the new addition, as she can be found cuddling with Hannah in her crib.
Amber is the third and final girl to leave the nest, moving to Glen Allen, Virginia to live with her new husband, Corey Davidson. After seeing her newborn niece, Amber develops intense baby fever. Still, Corey advises her to hold off at least until she’s twenty and they have a stable life, to which she reluctantly agrees.

Corey has a brush with the law when he’s pulled over for a suspected DUI. However, Corey successfully proves himself innocent in traffic court, confessing that his new sleep aid pills can cause symptoms similar to drunkenness; they then dismiss the case and set him free.
Year 27
Parker has taken an interest in rodents, and when he asks for one, specifically a guinea pig, he has that desire fulfilled when Keegan surprises him with a trip to the pet store to get one. Parker comes home with a female, white-and-brown guinea pig with the name Furgie, a play on one of Parker’s favorite female singers.

At first, his parents are apprehensive about him using a dating site, but once they met their new daughter-in-law, their opinion changes completely and they accept her into the family. Luke and Julia now live in Puebla City, Mexico, just southeast of the capital.

Amber absolutely jumps for joy when she gets her first positive pregnancy test. She stealthily hides it from Corey under after her first scan, and then she surprises him with the sonograms. Hannah is enamored by her baby brother and is already proving to be a great sister.

Year 15
Amber finds a gray-tabby kitten prowling around the playground at school and, when she brings it home, asks Sarah and Keegan if she can keep it. Initially, Keegan only lets the kitten stay for one night, but he softens when he realizes how sweet and loving the animal is. Amber squeals when he tells her, and after finding out the gender at the vet’s office, she decides to name him Smoky.

Luke breaks his leg during a soccer match, landing him on bedrest for six weeks while he wears a leg cast.

Smoky escapes the house and runs away when nobody’s home, and when she discovers him missing, Amber is absolutely inconsolable; Smoky has been her favorite furbaby since day one. Thankfully, after a day of putting up “Missing Cat” posters all over the neighborhood, Smoky is found by a kind lady who lives on the next street over. Smoky had let himself into her house when he thought it was his own!
Year 22
Sarah is tired of Eastern life and wants to move back to Europe, so she brings Keegan and the kids in for a family meeting to discuss it. Ultimately, they decide to go for it, and they soon settle in the Finnish city of Tampere, in the southern part of the country.
Year 23
Sarah’s sister moves in to live with the family after going through a very ugly divorce that ends up in her losing everything. Sarah welcomes Aunt Valerie with open arms, and she has high hopes that Valerie will get back on her feet and start dating again.
As Aunt Valerie moves in, Naomi moves out, in order to become more independent. While it’s out of the country, she manages to find an affordable apartment. The place is in a coastal city in Belize called Punta Gorda, and Naomi thinks it’s perfect—affordable rent, spacious living quarters, and more.

Gabby and Curtis get their wish granted for a baby, and it’s a girl! Both parents agree that they want a name with a nice combined meaning, so they go with Hannah Katherine—pure and graceful. Not only that, but Hannah is also carrying the tradition of having Katherine as a middle name. Luna is adjusting surprisingly well to the new addition, as she can be found cuddling with Hannah in her crib.
Amber is the third and final girl to leave the nest, moving to Glen Allen, Virginia to live with her new husband, Corey Davidson. After seeing her newborn niece, Amber develops intense baby fever. Still, Corey advises her to hold off at least until she’s twenty and they have a stable life, to which she reluctantly agrees.

Parker has taken an interest in rodents, and when he asks for one, specifically a guinea pig, he has that desire fulfilled when Keegan surprises him with a trip to the pet store to get one. Parker comes home with a female, white-and-brown guinea pig with the name Furgie, a play on one of Parker’s favorite female singers.
