The year is 1188
House of Bohun-Rennes (BOON RE-NE)
DW: Queen Olive Joan Adeliza Constancia [32]
DH: King Ives Melchior Hugh Louis Joscelin [dec]
DH: King Denis Philip Peregrine (formerly Duke Rennes) [33]
DS: Prince Percival Johannes Hilary Julian Oliver [8]
DD: Princess Blanche Millicent Joan Adelaide [7]
DD: Princess Nicola Dionysia Margaret [3]
DD: Princess Eunice Philippa Dorothea [2]
DS: Prince Hector Benedict Alexander [1]
Our Queen Olive decided, for the security of the country, to remarry. The Duke was actually her first prospect for a husband, as they grew up under two neighbouring families of importance and saw much of each other growing up; however, her and her family’s constant expression of loyalty to the late father of the newly deceased king and the young Olive’s mixture of liveliness and modesty caught the eye of the former King and Queen, and so the Duke remained unmarried. The Duke Rennes’s consistent engagement in the Holy Wars left him long unengaged, so with this new peace period he has found a new task at hand: marrying his childhood friend and becoming the King needed.
Everyone is surprised by his adeptness for ruling; the late King Ives was well-trained, but sickly and rarely having a good health day. In contrast, King Denis is energetic and a quick learner, and luck would have it that he and his Queen settle the country down in the four years of their marriage and even have three children together, the one after the other! All is at peace, for as long as the world (or God, depending on one’s religious inclinations) may let the kingdom have.
