I worked with a Kendrick! He went by Kendrick, nobody called him anything else. He was a huge trekkie, probably could speak Klingon.
I like that name a lot. It's so appealingly masculine. I don't like the Ken part by itself. I like the whole name - the ENDR as one thing in the middle, is crucial for me. It's like the word thunder - the "ndr" is the sound of it, sandwiched by the hard Ks.
I also like the name Rick, but I wouldn't shorten Kendrick to get it.

If you worry about a certain nn, my advice is always not to use it. The kid is going to use whatever name they want regardless of what the family uses.
I haven't met one but I do like it. I even have Kendra on my list as well.
