Roxanne is the 80s name (the movie, and the song by The Police). Roxana I think escapes that. It helps that I've never even met a real life Roxana. It's a really "cool" name. Like, powersuit cool.

I like Roxana (this spelling) which is funny because Roxanne and Roxy do nothing for me. I don't consider it dated while the other two might be (especially Roxanne which is the name of a famous 80s song). Still, I don't recall even that one being overly common.

I’ve been really liking Roxana/Roksana recently. I added Roxanne and Roxy to my list, and I think Roxana sounds really pretty with a good deal of personality. It doesn’t feel dated at all to me.

I don't register this as Greek, but I do like the name. One of the MNs of my daughter is Roxanna (named after Anna).

80-ish isn't the word I'd use for it either. Yes, I think everyone know the song "Roxanne", but that doesn't make it 80-ish (and if it is, it's ready for a comeback :P). My fav variant is Roxanne. I like Roxana too. We went with Roxanna because the whole point of using it for us was that it was our favourite name ending in -anna.

It's a Persian Empire/Mesopotamian name... Meaning dawn. I prefer the versions Rhuksana or Roshana(k).

I really like it for the meaning! It doesn’t give me an 80s vibe. Where I live Roxana and Roxane were most popular in the 40s and 50s, so it has a “mid century modern” feel.
