I like it, especially paired with heavy, old-fashioned sounding names (Absalom Kendrick is one of my current favorite combos).
Ken is familiar; drick is kind of dashing.
Kendr is probably reminiscent of 'kindred' to me.
It's not a name that will inevitably be shortened.
If I've met any, I don't remember.
