[Opinions] Seren
I had a 12 week miscarriage back in May with a girl I was going to name Stella. Im currently 7 weeks pregnant with my hopeful rainbow baby. I want to honor her in some way. Since her name means star, I was thinking of using another name that means star or something similar for a girl.Well I found Seren. It means star in Welsh. WDYT of Seren? Would you think its a good honor name? Some other names I like (that I havent brought up to the BF)
Luna
Lucy
Scarlett (although 2 years ago, he said he liked this one)
Juliette
Willa
Ruby
Ivy
Alice
Gemma
Olive
Georgia
Beatrice
Amelia
Emily
Clara
Poppy
Clio (Cleo)
JosephineSeren as a MN or FN?

I'm sorry about the miscarriage. wishing you very good luck with this pregnancy.
What about Star, for a middle name? I have a young friend who had a boy, her rainbow baby, born after her daughter, Violet, died. she named her son Indigo, since that's the colour coming next to violet on the rainbow.
He's a dear little guy, very pleased with his name, and doesn't allow people to call him "Indie". He points to his chest and says, "I'm INDIGO!"

Sorry about your loss, but congrats on the baby! I think Seren is an adorable name, but as Anneza said, what about honoring Stella by giving the baby the mn Stella instead?
I think Emily Stella sounds very nice.

On your list, I'd use:
Lucy
Juliet (that spelling; mn only)
Alice
Beatrice (my daughter's fn)
Emily
Clare; perhaps ClaraI'd avoid:
Luna
Scarlett
Willa
Ruby
Ivy
Gemma
Olive (but I'd consider Olivia)
Georgia (but I'd use Georgina)
Amelia
Poppy
Clio (Cleo) (but I like Chloe and Clodagh)We used Beatrice (a family name) as the mn for our first daughter. When she died and I had another daughter, we wanted to have a link between them and used Beatrice as the new baby's fn. She is very happy that we did. Might you consider actually using Stella, perhaps as a mn? Seren is all right, but if you're not Welsh it's a bit of a stretch.

It’s nice to want to honour the name Stella, but Seren does remind me of Sarin gas attacks, sorry. If you use it, my vote is for the middle name spot. If you like the “star” meaning, a couple that are also nice are Danica or Esther. From your list I likeIvy
Alice
Georgia
Beatrice
Clara

thanks a lot...for ruining this name for me! Ugh! Seems like every name I fall in love with, has a bad connotation. :(

:(It’s never, never my intention to ruin names for people, but I always feel like I’d be remiss in not pointing out something that could be problematic.

I like Seren but I’m worried that people might not know how to pronounce it. I say “sair-en” but I don’t think that is correct. Names from your list that I like:
Luna
Scarlett
Juliette
Ruby
Cleo

Congrats on the baby!I think Seren is a good honour name, it has a meaning to you but is not too similar to Stella. If you want another name that means star I'm a big fan of Esther which also means star.As for your other names:
Luna- I like it however the Harry Potter association is very strong among millennials and Gen Z so that may put you off.
Lucy- I think it's nice and it's classic but it's very popular.
Scarlett- I like it, it's one of my favorite colour names.
Juliette- I prefer the spelling Juliet.
Willa- I'm not a fan, it sounds incomplete.
Ruby- I like it, it's one of my favorite gem names.
Ivy- Love it, it's one of my favorite names.
Alice- I think it's boring.
Gemma- I don't like it.
Olive- It's food.
Georgia- I love it, it's my favorite feminine form of George.
Beatrice- Love it.
Amelia- I like it but I prefer Emilia.
Emily- I like my name but it's very popular.
Clara- I don't like it, I find it boring.
Poppy- It sounds too childish.
Clio (Cleo)- I prefer the Cleo spelling but I'm not a fan of either.
Josephine- I like it but I don't like Jo.I prefer Seren as middle name.

Awwwwww I'm so sorry! But congrats on the rainbow baby!Seren is actually a Welsh name, so if you're not Welsh or don't have Welsh heritage, I'd use it in the middle. Sorry, but not sure how universal it is...But anyway, I like:
Luna
Scarlett
Ruby
Alice
Gemma
Georgia
Amelia
Emily
Clara
