Emma, eldest child of Simon and Aida, died four years ago after a brief illness. Her husband Bertran, Viscount Sandell, has since remarried to Branwyne, former Duchess of Kinnear. They have had three children of their own, Millicent, Florian, and Sabelina, who join Elodia and Simon his children with Emma.
King Miles also remarried and there is a new Queen! Queen Audrey and Miles have had two daughters, Idonea and Joan, and hope to have a son soon.
Former Queen Dowager Elspeth has married for the third time to the Baron of Malleville, a formerly confirmed batchelor. The pair hoped to have a child (son preferred to take over the estates) but Elspeth’s advancing age seems to be preventing this.
Elspeth’s older two children with Simon have married. Juliet married Steven, Duke of Eddow, and Prince Adam married Margaret of Gwenlan. The latter pair have newborn twin boys, Julian and Alexander.
Hugo and Celestine have added to their family after a number of childless years. Their son, Davide, at 12 is alternately excited to have three little playmates and irked by their squalling and rambunctiousness. Though the house is much more chaotic, they’re pleased to have Leonia, Henry, and baby Clemencia.
Eleanor and Amelia, who were both married five years ago have also welcomed little ones. Eleanor and Owen have Quentin, and Amelia and Magnus have Dominic. Their estates are a bit more than a weeks’ journey apart so they don’t get to visit much, though the sisters have kept up correspondence with each other and their husbands have also struck up a friendship. Amelia was a bit surprised when Magnus insisted Dominic’s second name be Peregrine (as is Owen’s), but she let the matter lie telling herself their families are close and why shouldn’t their sons’ name honor her brother-in-law?
There have been some big changes in Beatrice’s family as well. Beatrice has re-married, much to everyone’s surprise, to the Baron of nearby Ventris. John is a widower who also lost children and the two understand each other and make a good pair. Their estates are looking to revert back to the crown or a cousin, however, as John has no heirs left and they are too old to have children together. Neither mind much, however, preferring to not live their lives worrying about such things that don’t truly matter, as they have learned through their mutual tragedies. Theophania’s fiancé died in a carriage accident before they could be wed (indeed, before they had met more than twice) and she is now affianced to Harald, to whom she just bore a daughter, Sapphira.
Alewyn and Violante’s family has grown even more! The happy monarchs have added Simon, Agnes, and Felicia to their brood of (now) eight children.
William has died, however, due to overindulgence of his extra-marital activities (he became sickened and feverous after discovering pustulence of his virile member). Esme is not greatly displeased, though thankful that she herself seems to be free from the leprousness of her husband.
Princess Rosamund has finally wed, to Alexander, King of Hungary. No children have been produced as of yet.
