Russell isn't horrible, but I think it is a bit dated, and I'm not a fan of Russ as a nickname.

I like Serena, overall.

I prefer Ross to Russell.

Serena is OK. Never going to top my list, but I knew a nice one at school which made me warm up to it somewhat. Ms Williams is a tennis phenomenon, no doubt about it, but she does whine a bit. I'd prefer Selina, though I wouldn't use it either.

I like them both. They have different vibes, but they both seem equally strong and nice to me. Serena makes me think of Serena Williams, but that’s not a bad thing.

Russell has been on my mind too (watching GLOW on Netflix. There's a character named Russell).
I think I had Russell on my PNL for a while. I like the sound more than the look of it. To me Russell is friendly and kind. A sweet guy.

Not a fan of Serena. It just makes me think of Serena Williams.

I feel the same about Russell. (-:

Serena makes me think of Serena Van Der Woodsen from Gossip Girl. That and Serena Joy from The Handmaids Tale, which isn’t a good association either. But I think it has a very pretty sound to it, so I can’t shake it at the moment.
